Description
Photographed off the western coast of Greenland, in the Ilulissat Icefjord. This fjord is the birthplace of thousands of icebergs, with the glacier at its eastern end producing over 20 billion tonnes of ice a year. In 2004, the Ilulissat Icefjord was made a UNESCO World Heritage Site. (Photo by Robbie Shone/Science Photo Library)
