Cassini spacecraft image of Mimas, one of Saturn’s moons. Saturn’s rings are seen in the background, at upper right is the Keeler Gap in the outer A ring. Mimas’ surface is covered in impact craters. Mimas is composed of water ice with only a small amount of rock. The Cassini- Huygens spacecraft was launched in 1997 to investigate Saturn, its rings and its moons.
