Description
Christine Keeler, the former model and showgirl whose simultaneous affairs with the British War Minister – John Profumo and naval attaché to the Russian Embassy in London – Eugene Ivanov, created a threat to national security that brought down Macmillan’s Tory government in 1963.
Shot by Duffy at age 23 in August 1964, the same year Keeler finished serving six months in Holloway prison for perjury. The shots were used for the first issue of King Magazine released in winter of the same year. Intended to be the British answer to Playboy magazine, King was short lived and stopped being published in 1968. Photo Duffy © Duffy Archive
